Evcol Entertainment started out exclusively producing theatre productions. From 2008 to 2017 it produced over 25 productions, in London and Europe. In 2017 the company began producing Audio Dramas (all genres including musicals) and has published a number of works since then.
The creation of an audio drama platform had been a long time aim of producer Simon James for a number of years.
Having worked briefly in the USA film industry, Simon spent 25 years in theatrical production before starting Evcol Audio.
With the increasing popularity and intimacy of audio books, Simon wanted to combine this trend with cinematic and theatrical storytelling, thus creating a truly immersive experience.
The idea of people putting on a set of headphones and not only listening to the spoken word, but with the aid of music and dynamic soundscapes, find themselves being taken on a journey where they themselves could truly visualize the worlds and scenarios they were visiting, was an exciting one.
There are currently very few options available to monetize Audio Dramas and Pod-Casts and Evcol hope to fill that void.
Evcol's aim is to not only produce and distribute it's own productions, but to develop as a platform to allow other Audio Drama producers to distribute their work.
